About Us

Willies Mchunu Foundation it is the legacy community development foundation named after the unionist, political activists, former KZN legislature speaker-MEC for Transport Community Safety & Liaison and MEC Corporate Governance & Traditional Affairs, father, grandfather, husband, 7th KZN Premier and the peacemaker Mr Willies Mchunu.

Purpose of the Foundation

  • To develop communities and support and assist young people including young leaders, women, students, elders and people with disabilities;
  • To maintain peace, security, safety and promote social cohesion;
  • To promote human rights, labour relations, workers’ rights, gender equality and Anti-GBVF.
  • To facilitate and organise awards related to workers, human rights, Anti-GBVF, gender equality, safety and security;
  • Represent and support political leaders and law makers, including the retired leaders.
  • Support churches, art and culture and protect the legacy of patron/founder Willies Mchunu.
